Mike Chamness is a fundraising & non-profit development consultant who currently lives and works in Venice, CA. After 15 years of grant writing & donor relations work in CO, Mike rolled out of the Rockies in 2007 and has recently moved on from his position at University of CA Los Angeles to focus on consulting. Since 1996, he’s dug up approximately $3.2m for a wide variety of arts & environmental groups, social justice organizations, municipalities, & schools in AZ, CO, and CA. In addition to fundraising work, Mike spent six years at Solar Energy International in Carbondale, CO as a special project coordinator, ran for State Assembly and US Congress in CA, and has served on the Board of Directors for KVNF Community Radio and the Stepstone Center. He also dabbles a bit with paint and ink when he’s not typing.
